Problems with layout grid

My websites are all created with layout grids and have worked so far. Now, when editing and uploading, I see the following problems:
All grids with the height specification in VH no longer work, images and text are displayed incorrectly. When scaling down from desktop to tablet or phone, the vertical grid is not merged, there are empty areas. What am I doing wrong...?

What is it supposed to look like exactly? I recreated this in V19 and it is doing the same thing so I'm not sure what it is supposed to look like when published.

Are you sure you don't want to use the image as the background of the grid versus it being inside?
