contact popup tutorial

Post by Spinner »

I want To create a contact form that is a pop-up window.
I was able to create the form okay with the form Wizard but it's not popping up the way I want, is there a tutorial on this piece? I searched for pop-up and didn't see anything except confirmation pop up..

The easiest way to create a popup is by using the Dialog, it can also be configured as form.

I'm still not having luck with my contact form sending me an email.
I have confirmed and tested the email server And authentication settings At Go Daddy where my site is hosted.
But with my form when I hit submit it just sits there for about two minutes then finally comes up with the failed page. (Is there a way to change this timing so it passes or fails quicker?)

At the bottom here's where you can download my simple project that is just a contact form.
https://datapath.us/Download.html

(It's not the same contact form on the site above your downloading from)

I think the last time I set up a form for someone using GoDaddy, I used PHPMailer - mail as the mail engine. I find other options with GoDaddy are a pain

No it is not possible to upload images or files to the forum directly due to security reasons. You can either upload to your own host as you have previously done or use the following https://imgbb.com/

Note from looking at the image you have already shared the settings may be incorrect. The smtp settings should be that of your host not of your Internet provider comcast this could explain the hanging and timing out. You should contact GoDaddy and ask the correct settings required and use them in the form settings in WWB

A quick look at the image the naming of the success and error pages they should be error.html and success.html and not use the .php extension as you have used in the pass.php and fail.php
Before I turn in (UK) can you try using port 80 and tls and see if that helps.

Did you add ##error## to the error page?

See the form FAQ for more details
viewtopic.php?t=32967

What is the error?

Note that the server is sending the emails, so any delay or error is related to the configuration.

Did you read the info in the FAQ about the error code?

You do not need to start over, you will need to make sure your settings are correct.
