OverLayMenu Background & Hover Color
Can not change the color from the default blue

You can change these colors via the style properties. This works the same as with other objects.

Isn't it that the work space does not render colored links because of a limitation of RichEdit?

No, that has nothing to do with the Overlay MenuIsn't it that the work space does not render colored links because of a limitation of RichEdit?

the colors inherit from the default view, so you will have to set them there.
