I have a new version of the index page of my site and I want to replace the original one with it. If I simply name the original index-old.html and then name the new one index.html, all the pages on the site that linked back to the original index page will link to index-old.html.
Is there a way to replace the index.html page so that pages link back to the NEW index.html page?
There must be a simple way to replace a page and not lose the links back to it, or at least I hope there is.

Re: Replace index.html page with a new version
Did you try to copy / paste the content of the new page to the (old) index page?
Or else you can use the global replace tool to change all links to the new page

Thanks for what I should have realised is the obvious answer, Pablo. Getting older is no fun, it stops the brain from doing what it used to manage quite easily.
Thanks again.
