Table import from CSV with Serbian Cyrillic

Post by bigdenis »

Dear Pablo!

There is something strange when I'm inserting table into the page and importing data to it from CSV:
Data flow is next:
  • data is created in Excel 2016
  • from Excel > Save as > file type > CSV-UTF-8
(this format is not enough yet - after importing in the page table there are strange characters)
  • edit with notepad (change delimiters from ; to ,)
  • from Notepad > Save as > file type UNICODE
After importing CSV data to the table everything seems to be all right...

...but when I double click into cell to modify the cell content it's immediately changing to graphical characters! This change is permanent.

I can't figure out. Why? Thanks in advance for any advice!

It seems to work correct for me.
Maybe the default font of the page does not support Unicode?

Page properties:

Font family: Arial
Character Set: Unicode (UTF-8)

I use only "traditional" web-safe fonts...

Then maybe it's a computer related issue?
Did you try it on another computer?

No, I didn't try it on another computer. I don't like playing with my Web Builder license. A license for a single user can be installed on 3 computers...What if I spend them with trying?
By the way I can try it with VmWare virtual machine simulating other computers. Is this counting into my 3 computer license limit?
At the moment I'm using Windows 10 Professional x64 (1803-native US English)
Regional settings:
Formats tab - Serbian Latin
Administrative tab - Serbian Latin for non-unicode programs (you are not affected - Web Builder is unicode program)

You can use the trial version to try it, there is no need to use your license just to see if it works.

Note that the text editor is standard Windows functionality. From my experience these type of issues are usually related to a faulty msftedit.dll file.
This is file implements the rich text editing for many Windows applications.
