Hi, I cannot seem to set up the CMS properly. I use the CMS template and the confusion is with the WebBuilder asking for MySQL server. I am not with a hosting company who uses CPanel, and they only list MySQL Host (in this case) as: vriske001.mysql.guardedhost.com I used this, and also tried "localhost" but neither work. I also tried vriske001 and that did not work as well. What do you need to help me get this going? I also contacted the hosting company and they told me to contact the CMS provider....

One more question: Once this is working, then how do I indicate an area on the client's website as to where on the page the editable content is going? This is not clear in the instructions.... Thank you!

Hi, I am responding to the list of things to look for in your tutorial:
CMS does not works at all:
- Did you set the page file extension (in Page Properties) to PHP? - YES
- Did you publish the page(s) to a web server with PHP and MySQL support? - YES We actually installed this on another client site 2 years ago and it was working.
- Did you create a database and enter the correct database settings in the CMS configuration? - YES
- Did you first run the CMS admin so all tables were created? - YES, BUT IT DID NOT "TAKE"

Hi Bacon Fries. Yes, the hosting company does support the database. We have several other CMS's working on other client websites. I wanted to use the CMS supplied with WB14.

The error indicates that you have selected the wrong PHP version in the Page Properties.
Please select PHP5-PHP7.

Hello Pablo, Yes, that was the culprit. I am now able to login and create pages. My Question: On the client's web page: Events, how do I insert an area that "fills" with the page created via CMS? I have used other CMS programs and they have been inserted on a page using an i-frame. So...how do I post content from the CMS to a web page. Here is a link to preview the page that we need to allow the client to use the CMS to update Events.

Hi Pablo, yes, I understand how to view pages created in the CMS....the question is how do I get a page from the CMS to show up on the client's website? Use i-frame? or do I need to place (something) on the clients web page to "pull-in" the content from the CMS?
I just looked at this page for possible use as an i-frame, but it shows the whole Admin page and not the frame with the content:

Yes, an inline frame is the easiest way.

Pablo, I removed the content on a test page, placed a layout grid where the content should go for the events calendar, and then placed CMS view in the layout grid...as you instructed.
In the CMS view, the login info for the CMS admin was entered in the page properties. The page shows a blank area:

I noticed that the CMS view "box" is not recognized as an object in the layout grid and the object manager shows it as free floating....and not in the new layout grid.
If possible please let me know what to do. Also, what happened to the i-frame idea?

Somewhere you must have changed the settings so it no longer works.

OK...I did exactly what was instructed.... I placed a layout grid on the page where the content was to show up and then put a CMS View object in the layout grid. The login details in the properties for the CMS View were entered (not changing anything). And yes, the content does show up when viewing the CMS Admin page, but does not show up in the CMS View object placed on the client's web page. As far as using a CMS View object on the page, how is it that we would use the login for the database? Are we missing something?

If this approach is not working, you mentioned the use of an i-frame. Once again, I am at a loss for knowing how to extract the frame with the content from the CMS Content page, and having it show up either in an i-frame or in the CMS View object placed in the layout grid.

Step 1
Open this page in WWB

Remove all content from the page with exception of the CMS view.
Now you have a working page without all the extra elements.

Step 3
The next step is to make the content flexible so you can display it inside an inline frame on another page. This is what you want, right?

- Add an layout grid to the page
- set the grid to one column
- Drag the CMS view inside the column

Step 4:
Publish the page.

Now you can use this page on another website via an inline frame:

You can update the CMS view via the CMS admin.
