Using Bookmarks

Post by onlye »

I have several sections on a page I want to link to from a menu. I am having difficulty with bookmarking the sections. I tried using the bookmark tool but i goes to the bottom of the page and I can't place the bookmark where I want it. I have a text object with background used as a banner for each section I want to link to. I changed the name of the text object (following the guidelines provided) and can find the name in setting up the menu but the menu just takes me to the top of the page.

Can someone point me to more detail instructions or video? I read several forum threads but not figured it out.

Thanks

Hey Eric,

You'll want to link to a layer or bookmark rather than a text object. I sent you an email.

Ok, got the Bookmarks set. Easier than I was making it. The Bookmarks are set at the layout grid.

New issue: When the Bookmark is selected the section comes to the top of the page. but it displays 30 or so pixels below the bookmark. I finally figured out it is because I have a sticky layout gird with the menu at the top of the page. So the bookmark is bringing the right section to the top but the first bit is hidden behind the sticky layout grid makeing it appear that the bookmark is below where it should be. Any suggestion to force the bookmark below the sticky layout grid?

site is:

onlye.org/postweb/prcc

the courts page has several bookmarked sections.

thanks

In the bookmarks settings of the section (layout grid or layer) you can set an offset.
Note that this only works if you enable 'smooth scrolling'
