Default Project Folder.

Post by steveg »

Is there any way to set a default project base folder for all projects?

For example, I would like to set it as D:\WYSIWYG WebBuilder Projects, so then I can create folders like D:\WYSIWYG WebBuilder Projects\My New Project.

Currently, it defaults to C:\Users\Steve\Documents.

Thanks.

You can save your projects anywhere you want.
Windows should remember the lats folder that you have selected.

The system folder can be set in Tools -> Options -> Files and Folders

Thanks Pablo.

I saw the setting for changing the system folder, but I also saw the warning about that so I was a little wary about changing it.

I do save the projects to other locations. I was just hoping to be able to set a default root folder for all projects. It's not a big issue, just a convenience thing. I can work around it.

Thanks.

Along the same lines, I have my system folder, set in options, to D:\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder. When I installed WB19, what appears to be an almost identical system folder was installed in C:\Program Files\WYSIWYG Web Builder 19.

In particular, the "lightbox" folder is located in this C:\Program Files location and NOT in the D:\Documents....

Do I need to copy all of the files from C:\Program Files to the specified D:\Documents System folder? AND, if I do, many of the items in Program Files (from recently updated WB19) are newer than those in the D:\Documents folder (from multiple WB upgrades I assume). Should I keep or replace the older files from previous installs?

Hoping this makes sense...thanks

The program folder is not the same as the system folder.

The program folder is where the software is installed. This folder read only.
The system folder is where user editable files are saved.

Lightboxes should be installed in the program files folder, because these files are normally not changed by the user.
