Empty Folders in the System Folder

Post by capeatlantic »

Hi there! I am completely new to WYSIWYG and web building in general. While working on my project I was trying to add to my layout grid a Divider Type, but the only option I had was (none). I went and looked at the folders (This PC > Documents > WYSIWYG Web Builder > System) and besides the blocks folder, every other folder is empty.
When I purchased and downloaded the WYSIWYG Web Builder Version 18 Plus I downloaded the file and then transferred it to a remote desktop location. Could that have moved those files somewhere else?
I've read through many forum posts about the Dividers and sadly none have had the answers I needed and everything seemed to check out otherwise.
I appreciate any help and if more information is needed I will do my best to provide that!
Thank you so much!

Thanks for the reply. It does show that it is connecting to the right folder location which is great, but all folders except blocks are empty (i.e. clipart, dividers, downloads, etc.). Would I need to try uninstalling and reinstalling the software? As I've been reading more, I see that it could be a permissions issue that is making these folders empty and that a reinstall could help that?

EDIT TO ADD: I was looking through the templates online for one that had a divider type on it...downloaded the drinks template....and opened that up as a new website build and the divider was there. Went and checked the dividers folder in the system folder and I now have just the water type divider. Now just how to get all the rest...thoughts?

Thanks so much!

If you install the software then all files will be installed to default location.
If you change the system folder then you will have to move the files to the new location.

Okay, I might try uninstalling and reinstalling the program and see if that helps at all. I think I did the set up and everything through the remote desktop where the program and files are currently stored at but maybe I'm wrong. If I copy the projects I am working on at the moment to a new location will they be safe when I uninstall the program? And then I'll be able to run the set up again?

Thank you for your help through this!

Reinstalling the software will not affect your projects.
But making backups is always good

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the program today and from that my 'dividers' folder is no longer empty - I have 57 options now! The only folders that remain empty now are as follows: clipart, fonts, gallery, menubar, navbar, stencils, tabmenu, themeroller.

So I guess my final question now is, should all these folders be empty after I reinstalled the program? Should there be files in there automatically or are these folders here for me to add items into from external sources.

Thanks for the help!

These folders should not be empty after running the software.

Maybe your firewall, virusscanner or ransomware protection prevents the files from being installed?
