Panels Not Responding Windows 2022 Standard Server

Post by peters »

I have a very strange issue that happened right in the middle of working in WWB tonight.
I have WWB installed on a Windows 2022 Standard Server. I am actually developing right on my server as I have IIS and mySQL installed on this same server.
I have been running WWB now for the better part of 2-weeks on this server with no issues.
Tonight all of a sudden the Properties, Site Manager and Object Manager panels cannot be moved or any options selected in them.
Note: The ToolBox Panel works 100% and is responsive.
I can click up in the Top-Bar View checkmark options and by checking and unchecking, these panels will disappear and reappear.
I have rebooted the server and end up with the same issue?
I then completely uninstalled WWB, rebooted the server and reinstalled WWB. Got the same issue as these panels unresponsive.
I then uninstalled WWB again and rebooted the server and then reinstalled WWB via right-clicking and installing as Administrator and I have exactly the same issue.
WWB installed on my Windows 11 workstation is working as expected.
How do I get WWB working again on the Windows 2022 Server?

I resolved the issue with WWB.
I uninstalled Windows update 21H2
Rebooted the server.
Downloaded and reinstalled Windows update 21H2
Rebooted my server.
WWB's panels now all respond.

Note that the 'panels' are standard Windows functionality, so I have no control how this functionality works.
But this may be helpful:

Hi Pablo,
Thanks for that bit of info on the regkey that controls panel default placements and that .dat file.
Windows updates are at times a pain.
