Can I switch from WWB18 32bit to 64bit version?

Post by kevindef »

Hi there,
I'm currently using WWB18 32bit version.
I'm thinking of switching from my current 32bit version to 64bit version.
As such; is there any risk associated with the switch or will it impact on my past projects?

Both my PC machines are:
System: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
RAM: 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)
Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.19 GHz

Your advice please:

Thanks.

You should have no issues. As always, keep a backup copy of your file for the 32bit in case you need it.

I switched from 32-bit to 64-bit when I moved up to WWB17. When I opened older files, they wouldn't load because an extension (.uwbx) could not be found. I installed the extension, but the problem persisted. I had to reinstall WWB15, with which those older files were made, and I was able to open the files.

This only should happen for very old (deprecated) extension. All other extensions have also been ported to 64 bit.
