How to place a phone icon in line with a phone #?

I have asked this question before. One answer from Pablo included a tip to use a card or a breadcrumb with one item. I am trying to use the card method. I wanted the phone number section to match the page, so I made the card background transparent and eliminated the header, footer, and extra text. When I try to add the icon it refuses to let me place it in the card, it drops it below it. How do I place the phone icon on a single line before the phone number on the card? Thanks for any tips you may have! (I didn't include a demo project because my question is fairly generic)
