Text Tool not allowing input and not displaying in editor.

Post by USDefaultAhead »

I have an odd issue with 20.4 the latest versions where it doesn't display any text in the editor. If I load an old site in it doesn't display the text in the editor on the page, but if I preview it is OK in the browser.

But back in the editor, it shows a blank screen where the text is supposed to be. It does it with all fonts, sizes, attributes and colors.
Is there some DLL missing or something for the display on screen in the editor?

I notice when I try to add a text from the toolbox it only allows it to have the tool indicator boxes to display the small squares, no typing allowed for the text and the height property of it is 1 I change it to say 100 go away from it being the focus and go back it goes back to the 1 pixel height

It doesn't even allow typing or have the default text displayed when clicking for the text tool in the editor.

It's like there is some missing DLL that is required to allow for that tool to display in the editor.

I do not think this is directly related to WWB or a recent update.

The software uses the standard Windows richtext editor (msftedit.dll).
Maybe the file has become corrupt?
Did you try a system fix / recovery?

Thanks, There is definitely something else outside the program going on. As I have the software running on both my laptop and desktop and it works fine on the laptop but not the desktop. Both running Win11.

It would be nice if I can figure how to run the program in a Virtual Manager on Linux. I would be dumping windblows yesterday. I will try a few other things that I suspect might solve the issue. Thanks
