Re: File download

You can use the 'link to a file' option for this.
https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/links.html

Thanks Pablo.
I created a table. With the text in one cell, I created a link to a file already uploaded at http://domain/filename using External Web Address and the URL. Unfortunately, the file (an mp4 ...

File download

If I want a reader of my page to be able to download a file, from a menu perhaps, for saving locally (rather than opening), what might be the best way ?

Re: Video lip synch

Thanks all for your informative replies. In the main, I have confirmed the observation that playback is browser dependant. Despite Firefox being more sensitive than Edge, Chrome and Safari, I eventually found that there was something wrong with my mp4 ! Having fixed that, all is now well :)

Re: Video lip synch

Thanks for the replies. I've been experimenting. Chrome and Edge play the video in synch. Firefox (my default browser) on Windows/Android does not.
So, how do I cater for 'clients' with a variety of browsers ? Is there a more portable or more suitable format than mp4 ?

Re: Video lip synch

It is related because the built-in tools cause the loss of synch. When the same file is played externally (not thru' WYSIWYG) or via a URL, lip synch is maintained.

Video lip synch

I wish to present a small list of video clips. Using the built-in tools that use a file reference to an mp4, I find that, in preview or live, there is a significant timing mismatch between video and associated audio. In contrast, when using a URL to a third party file store, the lip synch is good ...

Apparent publish problem

I added some new text to a largely textual page that has not previously exhibited any problems. Preview shows the mods but publish seems to have little effect on the subsequently browsed page. Lots of experiments later, with frequent flush of cache, I am no further along diagnosing the problem.

PHP versions supported

I'm using the PHP/MySQL versions of WYSIWYG page login/admin management with v14.3.2. My hosting service is pressuring me to upgrade my PHP support from 7.0 to 7.3. Will 14.3.2 and/or 15 support 7.3 without scripting changes ?

Thanks

Multi-platform Sync

I wonder if it might be possible to include a WYSIWYG-WB program shutdown option to copy the .wbs project file to its resource sub-folder so that one of the many inter-platform folder sync programs can synchronize all the files needed by a project in one simple job?
