All pictures doubled into the root
https://sonnenastro.de/2026/Sonnenastro2026.zip
Though I have a clear folder structure and defined all picture links to the image-folders in the specific item, when "published" the program copys all pictures to the root i.e. the place where the index file is.
So I have a big index folder and image folders too

Check your settings. Where have you asked WWB to publish the images?

Re: All pictures doubled into the root
I have published your website and there are no images in the root. Only html and CSS. The images are in the 'images' folder as specified in your settings.
What do I need to do to see the issue?

Re: All pictures doubled into the root
I just published your project. All the files were in the correct place. No duplicates. This is what it looks like.

Havew you tried deleting all files at the target location and republishing everything? Try that.
If that doesn't work, check the options. Open WWB, go to Tools -> Options. The click on Publish and check the file type putput folder. On my system, all the pictures are in 'images'. What does yours say? This is mine:

Re: All pictures doubled into the root
Are you sure these files are generated by the software?
Maybe they are already in this folder, before publish?
The project you have shared seem to be working correct. There are no file in the root.
If you need further assistance, then please describe the exact steps to reproduce this behavior with the project you have shared.

Re: All pictures doubled into the root
I spent the whole morning controlling all picture files, setting the right links and deleting all in the root. Then I ran "publishing" again and that was the result.
The Option settings are exactly the same as in your screenshot.
I'm going now to delete all picture files in the root and start the project again. All pictures in the editor are empty. WBS says "Picture not found"
Made another test: Killed all "pictures"-folder in the subfolders and ran "Publish". Some pictures are now on the right place. But the sub-sub-folder is not handled correctly. The sub-sub-folder is not created (What is not a problem, I can also put all 5 volume descriptions into one folder) and the pictures are double again. Tomorrow I'll try that putting all about the Lexikon into one folder. Perhaps it'll work then.

Re: All pictures doubled into the root
Please note that the local structure is different than the published structure so these should not be mixed up.I'm going now to delete all picture files in the root and start the project again. All pictures in the editor are empty. WBS says "Picture not found"
Local (project) files are normally stored in Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder\
Published files should be generated in a different (online) folder

Re: All pictures doubled into the root
I publish locally.
The former site is running and should not be interrupted. I always work locally and load up with ftp when everything is ok. Then I'll kill the files on the server and load up the new ones I'm working on now.
And in the Neomarica-Project everything went fine.
And I never use the windows structure. My documents are all stored well sorted on different volumes and different devices and never in c:. There is no WYSIWIG-Folder in C:\Documents and Settings

The project you have shared is working correct, so if you need further assistant then please describe the exact steps to make it not work.
I still think it's a local configuration issue.

The steps: I open WBSWB, load the project, click on "Datei" and choose "publish". What else?

Re: All pictures doubled into the root
Have you tried changing the local folder to a new one (which guarentees there will be nothing in it) and see what you get.
That is effectively what Pablo and I did with your zip file and it worked for us. If it still doesn't work for you, then there is some configuration in your WWB setup that is not set correctly. But we can't see that unless you post screenshots.
