impossible to publish

Post by taowen »

Hi,
I cann't publish anymore new pages or corrections on my website : www.regis-pfaffenzeller.com. My host is planet hoster. I tried everything from local folder to SSH-52. With local folder, I get successfully but no new files founded !, with others, always failed.
I don't manage to add screen shots. I try another way here : it doesn't work.
Corrections were very light.
Before I used FTP standard protocol and now, it doesn't work. I am with WWB20.3.1
o you have an idea of why it's always failing?
Best regards.

You cannot upload images(screenshots) to the forum for security reasons. To do so you can upload the images to your own host and then provide a url. Or use the following
https://imgbb.com/
One reason that comes to mind is that your host no longer uses FTP but now requires you to use SFTP instead you will need to confirm this with them. Have you tried using the likes of Filezilla or even CuteFTP to publish?

If it has previously worked and it suddenly stopped working then it's most likely a server sided error.
Most web host sno longer support standard FTP for security reasons, so in that case you will need to configure SFTP or FTPS.
This may also require different credentials.

One thing you may want to try is to publish to a local folder (making sure you publish ALL files), and then use something like FileZilla to copy new files up to the server.

Publishing to a local folder will check that "publish" works (which it will do) and you can see the files easily.
Using FileZilla will give you more control on how you connect and you can see differences between the local folders/files and what's on the server.
